Terms
Last updated: 2026-07-03
1. Who this is between
You, and Etti — the trading name of Charlotte Joy Dawson, sole trader, ABN 28 533 482 874, Tasmania, Australia. These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania and Australia, and nothing in them takes away rights the Australian Consumer Law gives you — those guarantees can't be excluded, and we wouldn't want to.
2. What you're buying
Nothing Etti sells is a subscription. Etti Voice is pay-per-use: you pay for each audio file you make, at the price shown before you pay (in Australian dollars). Etti Awake is buy-to-own: $10 once, and the app is yours.
3. Etti Voice
- Only convert what you have the right to convert — your own writing, public-domain works, things you've bought or been given for personal use. Not pirated ebooks, and not paywalled material you haven't paid for.
- The audio Etti makes from your document is yours to keep for personal use. Don't sell or publicly distribute it without checking you have the rights to the underlying text.
- Your download link lasts 24 hours, then our copy is deleted. The copy you download is yours forever.
- Don't use the service to impersonate people, commit fraud, or produce anything illegal.
- The voices are new AI technology and won't always be perfect — that's exactly why the free preview exists. Paying means you've listened to the preview and accepted how it sounds.
4. Etti Awake licence
- Your $10 buys a personal licence: one key, usable on up to 3 computers you own or use.
- The licence never expires and there's nothing recurring to pay. After activation the app works offline forever — even if Etti disappeared tomorrow, your copy keeps working.
- Reinstalling on the same machine doesn't use up a slot. Changed machines and run out? Email us and we'll reset your key.
- Please don't share or post your key publicly — the 3-machine limit exists to stop that, not to squeeze honest customers.
5. Refunds
The consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law apply to everything we sell and can't be contracted away. If a product is faulty, doesn't do what we said it does, or isn't fit for purpose, you're entitled to a remedy — a fix, a replacement, or a refund, depending on the failure.
For change of mind on Etti Voice: the free 20-second preview is there so you can hear exactly what you'll get before paying, so please use it. Once a conversion has come out the way the preview promised, we don't generally refund a changed mind — but if the finished audio is genuinely broken or materially worse than the preview, tell us and we'll make it right. Refunded Awake purchases have their licence key deactivated for new machines.
6. Payments
All payments are one-off, in Australian dollars, processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. There is no auto-renewal of anything, ever.
7. The service side
Etti Voice runs on Etti's own server, and we aim to keep it up — but we're a small outfit and don't promise uninterrupted availability. If it's down when you need it, try again a bit later; if you've paid and something went wrong, we'll finish your audio or refund you. To the extent the law allows (and subject always to your consumer guarantees), our liability is capped at what you paid us for the product in question.
8. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly on this page and update the date at the top. Changes never apply backwards to something you've already bought.
